Apparently, Facebook has filed a lawsuit against Teachbook, LLC claiming that the TEACHBOOK trademark infringes the FACEBOOK trademark.

Facebook, get over yourself. No wonder Cooley can make tons of money with idiot clients like you.

Mr. Zuckerberg, you don’t own the word “book”. Frankly, the FACEBOOK mark isn’t even really particularly distinctive, despite your lawyers’ allegations. When I started college as a freshman in the 1980s, we were all given “facebooks” – a printed, hard-cover directory of all freshman, including color photos. The purpose was to help incoming freshmen get to know each other. Hmm? Get to know each other? Social networking? Seems kinda the same, no?

Facebook, you borrowed your name from a college invention that had been around for decades. See http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/facebook. At best, your FACEBOOK trademark is suggestive. You have no right to book. It doesn’t matter if “BOOK” becomes generic for online social networking sites. You have no rights to it. Your rights are to FACEBOOK – as a single, composite term.

Moreover, as explained above, FACEBOOK on the whole – even without separating “BOOK” is suggestive.

Really Facebook, you and your attorneys suck. I do hope you lose. And, to Teachbook, LLC, if you’d like someone to represent you, let me know.

You suck, Facebook.

Complaint: here.

Story: here.

Reading about these programs concerns me. Isn’t part of "travel to school and learning is school-centered” to help children socialize, learn to get along with others, understand authority, punctuality, responsibility, etc.?

Isn’t doing you K – 12 education at home going to breed a generation of even more selfish, self-absorbed kids?

I just don’t see this as a good idea.

No, really. How can anyone take Sharron Angle seriously? Even if you’re a Republican or otherwise conservative, how can you support this way-out-there candidate?

First, on June 21st, she called a press conference, then declined to answer any questions. Indeed, she seemed to run from reporters.

She is supports a Federal Marriage Amendment.

She opposes abortion in all cases including when a women is raped or suffers incestual intercourse. Indeed, she describes her work counseling young, at-risk risk to keep their babies as making “a lemon situation into lemonade”. Yeah, that’s it.

Angle proposed a bill that “would have required doctors to inform women seeking abortions about a controversial theory linking an increased risk of breast cancer with abortion”. Angle said she was pro-life and would like to see Nevada’s abortion law overturned. When Angle introduced the legislation again in 2001, the Las Vegas Review-Journal wrote that critics responded by saying the alleged link was not supported by scientific evidence, calling the bill a “scare tactic”.

Despite that, Angle does not believe in global warming. “I’m a clean-air proponent,” Angle stated. “I don’t, however, buy into the whole man-caused global warming, man-caused climate change mantra of the left. I believe that there’s not sound science to back that up.” So, abortions cause breast cancer, but pollution does not cause global warming. Okay.

After calling the Obama administration’s success in convincing BP to commit $20 billion to the Gulf clean up a “slush fund,” she retracted the term “slush fund” and said that BP should pay for the consequences of the spill.

She indicated she was against the legalization of marijuana and felt the same about alcohol, her spokesperson backtracked saying, “Alcohol is a legal substance, and adults can choose to imbibe.”

She seems to engage in a pattern of saying one thing and then quickly reversing course.

And now, after vowing to not take campaign contributions from PACs that include donations from companies that provide health benefits to the partners of gay employees, guess what? She has. Indeed, she seems to have accepted $37,000 in such contributions.

Whether you agree with her politics or not, how could you elect someone who lacks the ability to actually state what she believes? How can you elect someone who say “black” on Monday and then changes her mind to “white” on Wednesday? How can you believe anything she says…ever?

What a dingbat! Of course, let’s not forget her political views are whack!
